Meelad MD-83 registered SX-BPP in United Airways colors (to become S2-AFV)

Meelad Air MD-83 registered SX-BPP (c/n 53377) returned from WOE (Woensdrecht, Germany) where it was painted in United Airways colors, via ARN (Stockholm, Sweden), to Athens on November 10th. It arrived as MLW433 at 20:00L and since then it is parked in the satellite terminal waiting for its departure to DAC (Dhaka, Bangladesh) via AUH (Abu Dhabi, UAE). It will be reregistered as S2-AFV and operate for United Airways in Bangladesh.

Aeolian Airlines MD-83 registered SX-BTM

Aeolian Airlines, a new start up carrier in Greece, got its first MD-83 painted in the company colors today. The MD-83 registered SX-BTM (ex Sky Wings), arrived in Athens on September 29th from IST (Istanbul, Turkey) with AOL11P callsign, in all white c/s and had the Aeolian Airlines titles and stickers applied on it today.

Amjet Executive new Dassault Falcon 50 registered SX-CRC in Geneva

Amjet Executive, a business jet operator based in Athens, will soon take delivery of another plane to add to their fleet. It is a Dassault Falcon 50 registered SX-CRC (c/n 226) which was previously under the registration CS-DPO (never flew with this reg) and VP-BBD with Blue Herron Aviation. The plane is still in GVA (Geneva, Switzerland) in its new colors since late July 2010.

U2 arrived in Athens on Blue Line MD-83 registered F-GMKL

U2 arrived in Athens from NCE (Nice, France) on a Blue Line MD-83 registered F-GMKL as BLE910. The plane landed at 17:05L on runway 03L and the band left the airport on 6 limos for the place where the concert will be held tonight.

Meelad Air MD-83s registered SX-BLL and SX-BPP in HER

Two MD-83s of Meelad Air registered SX-BLL (ex JY-JRC, c/n 49933) and SX-BPP (ex JY-JRB, c/n 53377) are parked in HER (Heraklion, Greece) for several months waiting to be used under Sky Express' AOC. These two MD-83s had been in the Greek registry in the past as SX-DMH and SX-DMM respectively. Meelad Air is said to have applied for its own Greek AOC to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority.

Sky Wings MD-83 reregistered as SX-BTM today

Sky Wings took delivery of their third MD-83 a few days ago in ATH. It arrived as TF-JXC and remained as such until today, when it was reregistered to SX-BTM, as expected (see post). It will be based in RHO (Rhodes, Greece) and fly charter flights to major European cities. First flight is scheduled for today and will be ATH - JTR (Santorini, Greece) - ATH.

Sky Wings will take delivery of third MD-83 registered SX-BTM

Sky Wings is about to take delivery of their third MD-83 which will arrive from ARN (Stockholm, Sweden). Prior to Sky Wings, it was used by Primera Air registered as TF-JXC. It is scheduled to arrive in ATH under the TF-JXC registration (sticker over the Greek one) and will be reregistered to SX-BTM upon arrival. Since 22/6/2009 it was in a hangar in ARN being painted to Sky Wings colors. It is said that currenty no tail logo will be applied. It is configured in all economy class of 175 seats and will be based in RHO (Rhodes, Greece). Will be used mainly in routes to France, Italy and Belgium and will do night stops in HER (Heraklion, Greece), AOK (Karpathos, Greece) or ATH.

Sky Wings MD-83 registered SX-BTF in Athens

Sky Wings MD-83 registered SX-BTF came back to Athens yesterday from Syria, where it is used by Cham Wings Airlines. Today it was operating for Olympic Airlines flights ΟΑ 233/234 to/from FCO (Rome, Italy), ΟΑ 910/911 to/from SKG (Thessaloniki, Greece) and OA 245/246 to/from MXP (Milan, Italy). It is scheduled to leave Athens tomorrow (25/4) at 04:00L for MMX (Malmo, Sweden) as SAW 1452

Pegasus Aviation MD-83 registered N668SH departed from Athens

Pegasus Aviation MD-83 registered N668SH (ex Euroair SX-BEV) departed from Athens on 12:00L today on it's way back to Pegasus Aviation in US. The routing that it will follow is:
ATH - KEF (Keflavík, Iceland)
KEF - YUL (Montreal, Canada)
YUL - TUS (Tucson, USA)
It is scheduled to arrive at Tucson on 01:00Z (19/4/2009)

Euroair last MD-83 (ex SX-BEV) was reregistered yesterday (16/4/2009) as N668SH and is expected to leave Athens shortly on return to Pegasus Aviation.

Euroair MD-83 registered SX-BEV back in Athens

Euroair last MD-83 registered SX-BEV arrived in Athens today at 15:20L from MMX (Malmo, Sweden) where it was stored since 14/10/2008 (see post). This plane will be reregistered to N668SH and go back to Pegasus Aviation, just as happened with the other MD-83 of Euroair (see post).

Euroair MD-83 SX-BEV parked in Malmo

Euroair last MD-83 (after the recent departure of SX-BEU to Antalya) registered SX-BEV is confirmed to be parked outside of Priority Air Maintenance (PAM) hangar in MMX (Malmo, Sweden) from 14/10/2008 until today. It was returned to Pegasus Aviation since EuroAir ceased operations when they had their AOC suspended on 16/3/2009.

Sky Wings MD-83 SX-BTG back in Athens

Sky Wings MD-83 registered SX-BTG has returned to Athens today since mid November 2008 when it left for IST (heavy maintenance, Viking to Sky Wings logo/title change) and then ARN. It was leased to MCA Airlines and was used mainly for charter flights from Stockholm (including a weekly flight to Iraq) until March/April/May 2009 when their scheduled flights are expected to start with a new Airbus A321. It's yet unknown if the arrival in Athens was a charter flight or a ferry flight due to lease end.

Euroair MD-83 SX-BEU reregistered N848SH

Euroair MD-83 (ex SX-BEU) had it's new registration (N848SH) written on the fuselage sometime during the weekend. It had received it's new registration from FAA on 23/2/2009 but until last Friday (6/3/2009) it still had the Greek one written on it. The plane will go to Pegasus Aviation (San Francisco/Tucson, California, USA), one of the largest aircraft leasing companies in the world (recently acquired by AWAS).
