The first aircraft of Viking Hellas Aviation Ltd, an affiliate company of Swedish Viking Airlines that was formed in Cyprus, joined their fleet yesterday in Athens. It is an MD-83 registered SX-SMS (ex SE-RDI, c/n 49631) that took the Greek registration and Viking Hellas titles while parked on taxiway "B". The handling at Athens airport is provided by Euro Aviation. Simple checks and maintenance operations were conducted today on the plane. An application for AOC is being filed and pending approval. A Boeing 737-800 is also expected to join their fleet soon.
